Rope Access Competence
Professional rope access depends on trained technicians, competent supervision, rescue planning and a disciplined safe system of work. Ropeguys uses IRATA rope access competence to plan and deliver high-level maintenance, inspection and cleaning work where conventional access is impractical or disruptive.
IRATA Level 3 Supervision
IRATA Level 3 competence supports the planning, supervision and control of rope access operations. It is especially important where the task requires multiple technicians, complex rigging, rescue arrangements or coordination with site management.
Rescue Planning
Rope access work is planned with rescue considerations in mind before technicians begin work. The rescue method, communication route, access setup and site restrictions are reviewed so that the work can be carried out responsibly.
Safe Systems of Work
Each project is assessed against the building, task, weather exposure, anchor options, exclusion zones and third-party risk. The chosen method must suit the actual site rather than relying on a generic access plan.
Construction Site Compliance
Many Ropeguys projects take place on managed commercial buildings, residential blocks, construction sites, education premises and occupied workplaces. Site compliance matters because rope access technicians often work around building users, contractors, public areas and live building operations.
CSCS and Site Inductions
CSCS cards and site inductions help demonstrate that technicians understand construction site expectations, site rules, contractor coordination and the behaviour required on controlled work sites.
Safety-Critical Medicals
Safety-critical medicals are relevant where the work, access method or client environment requires evidence that technicians are medically suitable for safety-sensitive work at height.
PPE, RAMS and Contractor Control
Ropeguys plans work around suitable PPE, task-specific RAMS, permits where required, communication arrangements and building management requirements. This helps clients integrate rope access work into wider site controls.
Specialist Access Training
Some properties require more than standard façade access. Depending on the building, Ropeguys may need to work near confined spaces, permanent cradle or BMU systems, anchors, eyebolts, service risers, plant areas or restricted roof zones.
Confined Space Training
Confined space competence is relevant where access involves restricted entry, limited ventilation, difficult movement or additional rescue planning. Ropeguys assesses these conditions before agreeing a method of work.
BMU and Cradle Access
SAEMA / BMU cradle training is used where applicable to the project and building access system. Permanent systems are reviewed against the task, site rules and the condition of the access equipment.
Eyebolt and Anchor Competence
Eyebolt installation and testing competence supports work involving permanent access points, fall protection systems or anchor arrangements. The suitability of any anchor depends on the system, substrate, documentation and inspection requirements.
Health & Safety Documentation
For commercial clients, paperwork is often as important as the physical work. Ropeguys can provide the relevant documents needed to satisfy building management, facilities teams, principal contractors and managing agents before work begins.
RAMS and Method Statements
Risk assessments and method statements are prepared around the specific task, access route, building constraints and site risks. This helps clients understand how the work will be carried out and controlled.
Insurance Documents
Insurance documents can be supplied where required during procurement or contractor onboarding. Ropeguys understands that commercial clients need evidence before approving work on managed buildings.
Training Evidence
Training evidence can be provided where it is relevant to the agreed scope. Ropeguys does not publish certificate numbers publicly, but clients can request appropriate evidence for project approval.
Ongoing Competence
Competence is not a one-time box tick. Qualifications, medicals, rescue skills and site procedures need to be reviewed and renewed where required. Ropeguys plans work around risk assessment, access conditions, building restrictions and the practical realities of each site.
Before mobilisation, the team considers the task type, anchor or access options, weather exposure, pedestrian routes, nearby occupants, fragile surfaces, building services and emergency arrangements. This approach helps keep the work proportionate, controlled and suitable for the property.
